heroes finale review
Well it's come that time of season for me to review the finale of Heroes.

Below the cut in case anyone cares about spoilers

Well for some reason, Heroes only had 18 episodes this season, ending just yesterday in February.

It's the final showdown where Samuel plans on killing thousands of people in Central Park with his power of earthbending terrakensises. He gains power with the number of 'mutants' that are around him which is why he's been expanding his family. Back to this in a minute.

The biggeset thing I have been keeping my eye on all season was the development (or sometimes lack-there-of) with Sylar. The first part of the season, he was amensic living in the carnivale after Parkman erased his memories and tried to make him Nathan. After the death of Natha it appeared that Sylar was going to go back to his old killing ways, but for some reason, couldn't. They didn't go very much into this except for the fact that Sylar wanted to be a good person again because he has become afraid of dying alone based on what Hiro told him in a slightly altered new time line.

Sylar had gone to Parkman to get him to take the powers away, so 'the hunger' would go away, so Sylar wouldnt kill anyone anymore. Parkman tricks him however, by trapping Sylar in his own head, in a very large city, completely alone like he's been afraid of.

Peter had a dream about Emma killing all those people in the park and Sylar was the one that saved her, so Peter decides to save Sylar. He goes into his mind, where Peter also gets trapped. The two of them are seeminly there together for about five years trying to literally break down this wall that is keeping them from their freedom. Sylar keeps apologizing for killng Nathan and everyone he killed. They begin to bond slightly; Peter gives Sylar a book that he'd been reading that had worn out. He tells Sylar that he knows that he is not the same person as he used to, and then the wall breaks and they get out.

Like the first season finale, we have many of our heroes in the same place to fight the bad guy, who thank the heavens, was NOT Sylar like I've beene expecting, it was indeed Samuel. Emma (Peter's deaf friend) discovered that Samuel was evil and wanted to leave, but he had Doyle (the puppet master) forcing her to play her cello, to attract everyone to the carnivale. Sylar goes to save her, like in the dream. There is a brief struggle with Doyle, but Sylar stops him just enough to break concentration on Emma and she uses her power (manipulating sound waves) to escape. Sylar has the chance to kill Doyle, but does not instead just restraining him

Claire however, manages to get all the mutants away from Samuel after Edgar and Noah confirm that he's the one that killed Joesph and Lydia (who I miss). Hiro (with the help of Ando supercharnging them) teleports the majority of the supers away, but not after Samuel had started the earthquake. Peter gets involved and there is a tiny earthbending battle that goes on until all the mutants (except our main characters) are gone.

of course the news reporters come and are asking questions. Noah wants Claire to stay hidden, but she doesn't feel like they should have to anymore. In a non-violent way, she goes to expose their secret. She gets the newscrews to follow her to the top of the ferris wheel. With them, and our main characteres looking on (each of them asking, what is she doing?) she jumps off the top and then stands up and film catches her healing. adn that is how that season ends.

Now I found it a little anti-climatic, but I enjoyed certain things were tied up; for now, Sylar isn't the big bad, he may actually go good, Emma is safe (though Peter and her didn't kiss like i wanted, but oh well). My only concern is that if the public knows about the mutants, i'm afraid it will steal my idea from Defect and I may cry. But over all a better finale that last season.
